3 Impressions seeks to transform their clients from mainstream to memorable by helping their image reflect their own distinctive and focused personality. The 3 Impressions approach is about standing apart in today’s modern conformity.
Design Corps has felt an incredible synergy working with 3 Impressions because what they do with clothing and styling for a person is exactly the same as what we do with print and online media for a company—branding is all about making an impression.
3 Impressions approached Design Corps because they wanted to take their successful image consultant business to the next level. Based in the Phoenix area, 3 Impressions wants to offer their unique brand of services on a national level. To do this they wanted a branding that would meet the needs for both their current size and future growth, including online shopping, book publications, seminars, and, eventually, storefront signage.
STEP ONE: Brand Position Report
We started with our Design Corps Brand Position Report to review and consolidate information about 3 Impressions’ main company benefits, audience needs and market competition. This led to 15 branding parameters, items that needed to be kept in mind as we began to develop the visual identity of the company. These could be reduced to three or four themes that needed to be emphasized if the 3 Impression brand was to be seen as distinct and of value in the marketplace.
STEP TWO: Logo Concepts
From there we developed six design direction, each emphasizing one of three or four major communication themes, including 3 Impressions’ systematic process, their purposeful or business-minded approach to image, and their positive and pragmatic attitude instilling confidence in each client to “use what they have” to their advantage.
STEP THREE: Logo Creation
Once a logo was developed we continued the visual identity with determining a color palette for 3 mpressions as well as for each of its major subsections. Fonts were designated for use and images were selected for repeated use throughout 3 Impressions’ materials
STEP FOUR: Marketing Materials
After this we finally got the chance to start applying the visual look and themes to the 3 Impressions marketing materials including stationery, gift cards, and gift certificates.
We then continued with more extensive materials such as product packaging, web site, newsletters and blogs.
